Chemistry and Biochemistry

Learn fundamental chemistry concepts and hone your ability to reason through problems, investigate topics in depth, and communicate your findings to others.

This program will provide you with a broad foundation of knowledge in the chemical and physical sciences, preparing you for further study in a wide range of graduate programs, teacher credential programs, entry-level careers in government or private environmental organizations, and professional programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant, and related careers. You can major in Chemistry leading to either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in active undergraduate research projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience in research methodology, problem solving, and intellectual discovery.

Lastly you will amplify your work by participating in an internship directly related to your career.

Minor

The minor provides the required chemistry courses for admission to most professional schools. You will learn fundamental chemistry concepts and take courses such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry and environmental chemistry. Learn more about our on our course catalog.
