Eligibility for institutional scholarships and grants is reviewed following the end of each semester. Eligibility is usually based on cumulative GPA or meeting other Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. Students who lose eligibility for their scholarship and have extenuating circumstances should contact the Office of Financial Aid for further information.
Undergraduate Merit Scholarships awarded at the time of admission require students meet Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards. Students may only receive merit scholarships towards units that are required to complete their degree.
Students admitted as first-year freshmen are awarded with their merit scholarships for up to 8 semesters total. Students admitted as transfers are awarded with their merit scholarships for up to 6 semesters total.
Students must enroll at least full-time to receive the scholarship in that semester with the exception of transfer nursing students and students in their final semester before graduation. For additional information, visit our dedicated Undergraduate Merit Scholarships page.

Eligibility for institutional aid may be impacted by the receipt of non federal aid. In such instances, institutional aid may be changed if aid maximums are exceeded during a given award year. An example would be if a student receives both institutional and external scholarship aid in excess of their total Cost of Attendance so the University would be required to reduce the student鈥檚 aid. (The Cost of Attendance serves as the maximum amount of aid a student can receive during the award year.) In such a case, institutional aid would be reduced until the student鈥檚 total of institutional and external scholarship aid no longer exceeded the Cost of Attendance.
