If a student receives more tuition-only-aid than the cost of their tuition, their institutional scholarships may be reduced. Students may only receive institutional scholarships while completing their graduate degree unless otherwise noted.

Counseling Psychology Scholarship

Award Amount
- If selected, a recipient will receive $2,000 each term the student is enrolled in at least six (6) units for up to a total of 3 years.
Eligibility
- 3.25 GPA for the last 60 units of undergraduate or graduate coursework.
- Passion for the field of counseling as demonstrated in the Statement of Purpose and Autobiography.
- Financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA.
- Current applicant to the MS Counseling Psychology program.
How to Apply
Apply by the priority admission deadline and complete the following:
The scholarship committee will review all eligible applications and award scholarships based on the above criteria. When a student is awarded a scholarship, they must submit their deposit within two weeks of notification.
If the deposit is paid and the student defers to a subsequent term of enrollment, the scholarship will be cancelled and another recipient will be selected. The student may be reconsidered for the scholarship in the subsequent term if funds are available and another application is submitted.

MFA Grant
Award Amount
All students in the MFA Program receive an MFA Grant of $300 for each term of enrollment in the program, for up to a total of 3 years.
How to Apply
In order for the MFA Grant to be awarded, students must complete the 花儿直播 Financial Aid Application.
Endowed Scholarships
The University has some endowed scholarships funded by generous donors available to students in the MFA program. The amounts and availability of these scholarships vary each year. Recipients are selected by program faculty and the Office of Financial Aid usually between November and February of the academic year in which they are awarded. School Employee Scholarship
花儿直播 is proud to offer the School Employee Scholarship for eligible candidates who are currently working in a public or private school.
- The scholarship amount is 25% of tuition applicable while completing credential coursework.
- The scholarship is renewable each year up to a maximum of two years from the start of your enrollment.
- Please note that students are eligible for either a Graduate Merit Scholarship OR the School Employee Scholarship, not both.
Teachers of Color (TOC) Scholarship
The Teachers of Color (TOC) Scholarship benefits underrepresented students, who intend to teach, or currently teach, at a Marin, Alameda, or Contra Costa County public school and are enrolled in the Teaching Credential portion of the MS Education degree.
- The scholarship amount is up to 50% of tuition applicable while completing credential coursework.
- Preference is given to African American and Latinx students living in Marin, Alameda, and Contra Costa Counties.
- The scholarship award is renewable while the student is completing the Teaching Credential courses provided the student maintains a 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA).
Golden State Teacher Grant Program
Students applying for this program must be currently enrolled in a professional teacher preparation program within an accredited California institution of higher education that is approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) (such as 花儿直播 University of California).
The one-time Golden State Teacher Grant funds up to $20,000 that will be awarded if you commit to the following:
- You will teach in the 鈥渉igh need鈥 field of Special Education, at a priority school, as determined by the CTC, for four years, within five years after you receive the teaching credential.
- A 鈥減riority school鈥 means either a school with a high percentage, as determined by the CTC in consultation with the State Department of Education (CDE), of teachers holding emergency-type permits, based on the most recent data available to the CTC and the CDE, or a school with a high percentage, as determined by the CTC in consultation with the CDE, of low-income students.
- 鈥淓mergency-type permits鈥 include, but are not limited to, any of the following:
- Provisional internships
- Short-term staff permits
- Credential waivers
- Substitute permits
- You will repay the Commission 25 percent of the total award annually, up to full repayment of the award, for each year if you fail to do one or more of the following:
- Be enrolled in or have successfully completed a teacher preparation program approved by the CTC.
- While enrolled in the teacher preparation program, maintain good academic standing.
- Complete the required teaching service following completion of your teacher preparation program.

TEACH Grant
Students pursuing a career in teaching at elementary or secondary schools may receive the TEACH Grant from the Federal Government.
- Amount: Up to $4,000 per academic year
- Requirements: Students must agree to teach at a low-income school in a high need field for four years within 8 years of completing their degree for which they received the TEACH Grant.
- How to Apply:
- Must complete an annually with the Federal Government.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the after October 1 of each year.
